TOTORO

MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO is an Japanese animation film released even before my birth in 1988. I also enjoyed watching this film for many times when I grew up. The story is relatively simple which is about a small family. The mother is sick and in the hospital while the father take cares of two little daughters. One day the smallest girl encounters the "keeper of the forest", Totoro, and intend to show to her families. And for another day, the little girl is lost on the way to the hospital and seeks help from the Totoro. Totoro seems to be seen only in front of those are pure and innocent, especially children. Although TOTORO do not exist in the reality, there are still something worth believing or keeping in our mind.

MONSTER INC

MONSTERS, INC. is also produced by Pixar and released when I was very, very, very small in 2001. I watched this animation film again and again when I grew up and I still enjoy in it. The story is about the monsters that have to scare the children in the human world so as to obtain and generate electricity for their own world, while the children are considered as dangerous and toxic. The main characters, James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski, are the partner of the top scarer. They once meet a little girl left in their world and intend to send her back after many difficulties. In the end, the monsters generate electricity by the children's laughter instead of scream, which is more effective and powerful. Although monsters seem scary, they could also have another face. JAMES P. SULLIVAN is also my favorite character.

GROOT

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is a superhero science fiction film based on the Marvel Comics. The hero has stolen a mystical orb once which indeed contains immeasurable power called an Infintiy Stone. He has intended to sell the orb but later protected it from the villain instead with his companions. One of the companions is a tree-like humanoid called GROOT which is also my favorite characters in this film. Although it seems weak and clumsy, as it just knows two dialogues which are "I am Groot." and "We are Groot." and the branches are vulnerable, I think it is the most powerful hero in both attack and defense in flexible alteration. Be strong or weak depends on our own attitude and mind.

INSIDE OUT

INSIDE OUT is another Pixar’s animation film I enjoyed. The story is about five personifications of basic emotions which are Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, and Anger in a girl’s mind mainly controlling her actions and memories through a console. Joy is always the main controller and protects the console from the other personifications. However, after a series of mistakes and corrections, one messages I realized is that not only happiness is worthy, but we also need other emotions to balance and complete our personalities.

BAYMAX

BIG HERO 6 is an animation films produced by the famous studio called Pixar. The story is about a young robotics prodigy who has invented microbots but later being stolen by a villain. The prodigy has gathered a group of friends of his brother as well as an inflatable healthcare robot created by his brother and formed a superhero team to combat the villain. The robot which calls BAYMAX is my favorite character in this film. It not only knows how to deal with human's physical health problems, but also learns how to fix human's mental health problems. One of the messages I have got in this film is that caring is the most effective way to help and support each other.

Baymax is here for you. >u<
